The Hon. Anthony J. Russo is a judge for the Probate Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. He was elected to the bench on November 4, 2008.
Prior to his election, Russo presided as a judge for the Domestic Relations Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, a position to which he was selected in 1993.
Russo earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and sociology from Kent State University in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1977.
After graduating from law school, Russo entered into private practice, working as a partner at Russo, Roth & Co. until his election to the bench.
His memberships have included the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Probate Judges, the Justinian Forum, and the Eighth Judicial District Pro Bono Task Force. He was also a member of the Ohio State Board of Education (1973 to 1992).
Russo resides in Mayfield Village, Ohio. He attended Chanel High School, and he has been affiliated with the St. Malachi Church, the St. Paschal Baylon Church, the San Leone Society, and the Italian Sons & Daughters of America.
He is registered as a Democrat.
