The Hon. Anson L. Call is a magistrate for the 6th Judicial District Magistrate Division of Idaho. He was appointed to the bench by the District Magistrate Commission of the 6th Judicial District on May 6, 2022, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Bryan K. Murray.
The 6th Judicial District includes Bannock, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida, and Power Counties. Call has held an assignment in Bannock County.
Prior to his appointment, he was the Prosecuting Attorney for Power County since 2017. Before that, Call served the office as chief deputy prosecutor (2015 to 2017). He became a prosecutor after working in private practice as an associate at Cooper & Larsen, Chtd. and a staff attorney to the Hon. Stephen S. Dunn in Bannock County (2013 to 2014).
Call also taught as an adjunct professor in the Paralegal Program at Idaho State University.
He received a B.A. in international relations from Brigham Young University in 2010. Call then completed a J.D. at Florida Coastal School of Law. He was admitted to practice in Idaho in 2013.
Call served as a member of the Idaho Supreme Court Child Protection Committee since 2019.
At the time of his appointment, he resided in American Falls.
