Judge Anna M. Frushour: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Anna M. Frushour is a judge for the Fourteenth District Court (A-3) of Michigan in Washtenaw County. She was appointed to the bench by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in 2019, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Richard Conlin, Jr.


Prior to her appointment, Frushour was a partner at Reiser & Frushour, PLLC (2013 to 2019), and she was also an attorney at Frushour Law, PLLC (2011 to 2019). During that time, she handled criminal defense matters and served as assigned defense counsel for the Mental Health Court, Veteran’s Treatment Court, Sobriety Court, and Street Outreach Courts in Washtenaw County. She was also a former contract attorney for the Vincent Law Firm in Ypsilanti.


Frushour received a B.A. in political science and communications from the University of Michigan in 2003. She went on to complete a J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 2009.


Early in her legal career, Frushour served as a law clerk at Simon & Geherin in 2009.


Her memberships have included the Washtenaw County Bar Association (board member) and the Washtenaw County Women Lawyers Association (past president). Frushour was appointed by the Michigan Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Attorney Discipline Board.


At the time of her appointment, she resided in Pittsfield Township with her husband, Casey, and their two children. Frushour came to the United States as a child after her family fled from Poland prior to the declaration of martial law by the Polish People's Republic.
