The Hon. Ann M. Offermann is a judge for the 1st Judicial District Court of Minnesota. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mark Dayton on October 5, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Carol Hooten to the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
The First Judicial District includes Carver County, Dakota County, Goodhue County, Le Sueur County, Scott County, and Sibley County.
Prior to her appointment, Offermann was an assistant county attorney for the Dakota County Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 1999. During her tenure there, she held assignments in the Adult Criminal Prosecution Division.
Offermann earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell College in 1991. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law in 1994.
After graduating from law school, Offermann began her legal career as an assistant attorney general for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office. She served in that capacity until 1999, sitting in the Public Safety, Labor, and Health LIcensing Divisions.
Her memberships have included the Dakota County Bar Association. She has also been involved with Family Voices of Minnesota, the Minnesota Valley YMCA, and the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota.
