The Hon. Andrew Prather is the Chief Judge for the Muscogee County State Court in Georgia. He first joined the bench in 1994.
Prather earned a bachelor’s degree from Rollins College in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at Samford University Cumberland School of Law in 1977.
After graduating from law school, Prather entered into private practice. He worked in that capacity until 1980, at which time he joined the Muscogee County Solicitor General's Office. During his tenure there, he rose through the ranks, serving as an assistant solicitor general (1980 to 1982) and Solicitor General (1983 to 1993).
His memberships have included the Solicitors Association of Georgia (president) and the Columbus Younger Lawyers Club (president).
Prather was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia.
