The Hon. Amyra C. Cobb-Hampton is a judge for the Solano County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom on November 7, 2022, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Donna Stashyn.
Prior to her appointment, Cobb-Hampton was a deputy alternate public defender for the Solano County Alternate Public Defender’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2010. Before that, she spent time as an associate at Kapsack & Bair (2009 to 2010).
Cobb-Hampton earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. She then completed an M.B.A. at Golden Gate University School of Business and a J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006.
After graduating from law school, Cobb-Hampton began her legal career as a volunteer attorney for the San Francisco County Public Defender’s Office (2008) and the San Joaquin County Public Defender’s Office (2009). Then, in 2009, she joined the Alameda County Criminal Court Appointed Attorneys Program.
Cobb-Hampton was a resident of Alameda County at the time of her appointment.
She is registered as a Democrat.
