The Hon. Amy W. McCulloch is the judge for the Richland County Probate Court in South Carolina. She was elected to the bench in 1998.
Prior to her election, McCulloch worked as an attorney alongside her husband in the Law Offices of Joseph M. McCulloch, Jr. During her tenure there, she maintained a general practice, handling probate, personal injury, and workers compensation matters. Before that, she spent time as an assistant solicitor for the Richland County Solicitor’s Office (1991 to 1996).
McCulloch earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of South Carolina in 1987. She then completed a J.D. at the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1990.
After graduating from law school, McCulloch began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Tom Ervin of the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of South Carolina and the Hon. William Catoe of the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Her memberships have included the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges, the National College of Probate Judges, and the South Carolina Association of Counties. She has also taught business law, civil law, criminal law, and ethics as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina and the Midlands Technical College.
