The Hon. Amy T. Brazil (Ret.) served as a judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in Arkansas. Brazil was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mike Beebe on January 1, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Rhonda Wood. She resigned from the bench after losing her campaign for re-election in 2014.
The 20th Judicial Circuit includes Faulkner County, Searcy County, and Van Buren County.
Prior to her appointment, Brazil was a judge for the Faulkner County District Court. She also spent time as a municipal judge for the Greenbrier City Court and the Guy City Court.
Brazil earned a bachelor’s degree from Hendrix College in 1989. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1992.
She was a resident of Conway, Arkansas, at the time of her appointment.
