Hon. Amy R. Brosnahan is a judge for the 10th Judicial District Court of Minnesota in Isanti County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mark Dayton on January 3, 2014, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. P. Hunter Anderson (Ret.).
The 10th Judicial District includes Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington, and Wright Counties.
Prior to her appointment, Brosnahan was the County Attorney in Kanabec County, having served in that capacity since 2007. She began with the office as an assistant county attorney in 2003.
Before that, Brosnahan practiced for four years as an attorney at Leonard, Street & Deinard (1999 to 2003), where she handled intellectual property, products liability, and construction litigation matters.
She received a B.A. from the University of California, Davis. Brosnahan then earned an English educational teaching credential from San Francisco State University and spent time as a teacher at Skyline High School in Oakland, California, before completing a J.D. at William Mitchell College of Law in 1999.
She sat on the board of WINDOW Victim Service, Paradise Theater, and the Methamphetamine Task Force/Substance Abuse Coalition of Kanabec County.
At the time of her appointment, Brosnahan resided with her family in Knife Lake Township.
