The Hon. Alexandra Asterlin was a judge pro tem for the Amador County Superior Court in California.
She received a B.S. from the University of California, Davis, in 1999. Asterlin then completed a J.D. at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 2002. While a law student, she graduated with Order of the Coif honors.
She was admitted to practice in California (2002).
After graduating from law school, Asterlin became an attorney at Matheny, Sears, Linkert & Jaime LLP, a law practice she joined in 2003. She continued at the firm for two years, at which time she was named a senior attorney for the Amador County Superior Court, where she worked for the next eight years.
Then, in 2013, Asterlin returned to the private sector, this time as an attorney for Anwyl, Scoffield & Stepp in Sacramento. She went on to practice as a partner at Palmer Kazanjian Wohl Hodson LLP (2016 to 2022) before joining Ogletree Deakins as a shareholder in 2022.
During this time, Asterlin has gained experience as a litigator, including focusing her practice on class action and PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) litigation. She has also litigated individual claims of harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and misappropriation of trade secrets, representing businesses in matters involving the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. As a result, Asterlin is often tasked with conducting workplace investigations in some of these claims.
She completed an externship with the 3rd Court of Appeals of Texas.
Her memberships have included the Society for Human Resource Management, the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association, the Sacramento County Bar Association, the Chico Chamber of Commerce, and the Women Lawyers of Sacramento. She has also served as the ADR coordinator for the Amador County Superior Court.
