Judge Adam Giganti: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Adam Giganti is a circuit judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois in Sangamon County. He was appointed to the bench by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2018.

The 7th Judicial Circuit Court includes Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Morgan, Sangamon, and Scott Counties.

Prior to his appointment, Giganti was a partner at Stratton, Moran, Giganti Reichert, Scronce & Appleton in Springfield, Illinois. Having worked in private practice for twenty-eight years, he was also a partner at other firms. In addition, Giganti was a former assistant public defender and city attorney for Ashland, Athens, and Virginia.

Giganti received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1986. He went on to complete a J.D. at Saint Louis University School of Law in 1989.

Giganti was admitted to practice in Illinois (1990) and the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois (1991).

He is a past president of the Sangamon County Bar Association.

Giganti was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, and attended Rochester High School. He and his wife, Rebecca, have three children.
