The Hon. A. Michael Salvagni (Ret.) served as a judge for the 18th Judicial District Court of Montana. Salvagni was initially elected to the bench in 1996. He retired on December 31, 2016.
The 18th Judicial District encompasses Gallatin County. Over the course of his judicial career, Salvagni played an instrumental role in the creation of an adult treatment court program and a victim’s assistance program in Gallatin County.
Prior to his election, Salvagni was the County Attorney for Gallatin County, a position to which he was named in 1982. Before that, he spent time as an attorney in private practice (1976 to 1982).
Salvagni earned a bachelor’s degree from Carroll College. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Montana, Alexander Blewett III School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Montana in 1973.
