#McAllenPD Sergeant Carlos Hernandez admitted to bugging his
estranged wife's home without her consent and claimed it's not illegal.
His confession happened during a court hearing on September 29,
2020... We recently received the transcripts from an anonymous
source.


It seems Sergeant Hernandez believed his estranged wife was having
an affair, so he decided to bug the house (they were separated). During
cross-examination the wife's attorney explained to him what the penal
code said that it was a felony to secretly record people without their
consent if they don’t know they are being recorded, and the person
recording is not part of the conversation. It seems he thought it was ok
