Judge Nancy L. Allf - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Nancy L. Allf is a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. She was elected to the bench in 2010 and retained in subsequent elections.

Allf received a B.A. in pre-law and French from Transylvania University in 1979. She went on to earn a J.D. from Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1982.

After relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, Allf entered into private practice in 1983. Her areas of practice centered primarily on commercial litigation and bankruptcy law.

In addition to her private practice, Allf was appointed to serve as a settlement judge by the Nevada Supreme Court, a position she held from 1998 to 2007. In 2005, she was appointed to serve as a judge in the Short Trial Program of the Eighth Judicial District Court.

Allf also received an appointment to serve on the Business Court Task Force by the Nevada Supreme Court and the Pro Bono Compliance Committee.

She has been recognized by the Clark County Pro Bono Project and was named Alumna of the Year by Northern Kentucky University, Salmon P. Chase College of Law (2010).

Her memberships have included serving as a past-president of the Clark County Bar Association, the State Bar of Nevada, and the Board of Directors of the Clark County Law Foundation.

Allf was also a member of the American Bar Association, Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys, and the Southern Nevada Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys.

She was raised in Kentucky and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, after her father, an undercover FBI agent, was transferred there.
