Judge Mark R. Facchini - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Mark R. Facchini is an associate judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. He was appointed to the bench by the judges of the 22nd Judicial Circuit in 2017.

Prior to his appointment, Facchini was a criminal defense attorney at Donahue & Walsh, a law firm he joined in 2006. During his tenure there, he defended individuals charged with felonies, white-collar crimes, and driving under the influence.

Facchini earned a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University in 1999. He then completed a J.D. at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2002. As a law student, Facchini sat on the Chicago-Kent Law Review.

After graduating from law school, Facchini entered into private practice. He worked as an associate at Foley & Lardner until 2003, at which time he joined the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office as an assistant state’s attorney.

Raised in Chicago, Illinois, Facchini was a resident of Crystal Lake at the time of his appointment. He attended St. Patrick’s High School.
