Biography

The Hon. Hector E. Ramon (Ret.) was a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006. Ramon retired in 2019.


He earned a B.A. in history from San Jose State University in 1971. He then completed a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1974.


Prior to his appointment to the bench, Ramon worked in his own private practice from 1986 to 2006. Before that, he practiced at Kemp, Sublett & Ramon, the City of San Jose, the Law Office of Michael di Leonardo, as well as Humphreys, Berger, Pitto & Pearl.


His memberships have included the La Raza Lawyers Association as well as the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice. He has also served as a board member for the Santa Clara County Bar Association Law Foundation.


Ramon was named Santa Clara County’s Professional Lawyer of the Year in 2002.


He is registered as a Democrat.
