Biography

The Hon. Eric C. Roberson is a judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2017, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Mark Hulsey.


The 4th Judicial Circuit encompasses Clay County, Duval County, and Nassau County. Roberson has held assignments in Duval County and Nassau County.


Prior to his appointment, Roberson was a judge for the Duval County Court, a position to which he was named in 2015.


Roberson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida in 2001. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 2005.


After graduating from law school, Roberson served as an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the 4th Judicial Circuit. He served in that capacity until 2007, at which time he entered into private practice as an associate at McGuireWoods (2007 to 2011) and the Law Offices of Jason K.S. Porter (2011 to 2014). Then, in 2014, he opened his own private practice as a sole practitioner.


Born and raised in Duval County, Roberson attended Oceanway Elementary School, James Weldon Johnson College Preparatory Middle School, and Stanton College Preparatory School. As a senior in high school, Roberson won the Southeast United States Scholastic Chess Championship.
