Judge Steven D. Bromberg: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Steven D. Bromberg is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on May 4, 2005.

Bromberg earned a bachelor’s degree and a J.D. from the University of La Verne in 1971.

He spent his entire legal career as an attorney with Bromberg & Yaeger. He opened his practice in 1971, handling criminal defense and family law cases in Los Angeles, California. Eleven years later, he transitioned into civil litigation, specializing in employment law. Bromberg has also worked at Judicate West, where he had an arbitration and mediation practice.

Bromberg served as a councilman for the Newport Beach City Council from 2000 to 2005. He also served as mayor for the City of Newport Beach in 2002 and 2004.

Bromberg is a recipient of the Wiley Manuel Award for pro bono legal services.

Bromberg was born in New York in 1943. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. He is married and enjoys boating and photography.

He is registered to vote as a Republican.
