The Hon. Richard W. Stanford, Jr. (Ret.) served as a judge for the Orange County Superior Court in California. Stanford was initially appointed to the Central Orange County Municipal Court by former Governor George Deukmejian in 1985. He was subsequently elevated to the Superior Court three years later.
Prior to his appointment, Stanford spent twelve years as a Deputy District Attorney in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Stanford earned a J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.
In 2011, Stanford was removed from the bench after the Commission on Judicial Performance concluded that he had engaged in a pattern of misconduct in the handling of traffic matters on behalf of his friends and acquaintances.
