Biography

The Hon. Michael J. Strickroth is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by former governor Jerry Brown on December 23, 2016, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James Stotler.

Strickroth attended the University of Notre Dame, earning a B.A. in economics in 1975. He then received a J.D. from Pepperdine University in 1978.

He began his legal career in 1979. He worked as an associate at Parker, Stanbury, McGee, Babcock and Combs, eventually becoming a partner in 1982. Four years later, he joined Howard, Moss, Loveder, Strickroth and Walker as a partner. In 2012 he became a partner at Strickroth and Parker before joining Kutak Rock as a partner in 2014.

Strickroth was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

He was living in Mission Viejo, California at the time of his appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County.

Strickroth is registered to vote as a Democrat.
