Biography

The Hon. Larry R. Blanton (Ret.) served as a judge for the Orange County Circuit Court in Indiana. Blanton was appointed to the bench by former Governor Frank O’Bannon in 1997. He resigned from the bench after his electoral defeat in 2016.


Blanton earned a bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University in 1969. He spent the next several years teaching at Mitchell Junior High School and managing the Clock Division of Cornwell Co. before completing a master’s degree in public administration at Western Kentucky University (1984) as well as a J.D. at University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law (1989).


He is registered as a Democrat.
