Judge Greg A. Tynan - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Greg A. Tynan is a judge for the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott on January 8, 2014.

The 9th Judicial Circuit encompasses Osceola County and Orange County. Tynan has held assignments in both counties, presiding over cases in the Juvenile Dependency Division, the Domestic Relations Division, and the Criminal Division.

Prior to his appointment, Tynan was a judge for the Orange County Court, a position to which he was named in 2012. Before that, he was an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the 9th Judicial Circuit (2001 to 2012) and an attorney in private practice (1999 to 2001).

Tynan earned a B.A. from the University of Central Florida in 1992. He then completed a J.D. at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, in 1995.

His memberships have included the Orange County Bar Association.

Tynan was a resident of Orlando, Florida, at the time of his appointment.
