Biography

The Hon. Diana M. Tennis is a judge for the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was elected to the bench on August 26, 2014.

The 9th Judicial Circuit encompasses Osceola County and Orange County. Tennis has held assignments in both counties, presiding over cases in the Unified Family Court (Osceola), the Probate/Guardianships/Mental Health/Trusts/Civil Commitments Division (Orange), and the Domestic Relations Division (Orange). She also sat as the associate administrative judge for the Osceola County Domestic Courts (2021) as well as an associate administrative judge and an administrative judge for the Domestic Relations Division of the 9th Judicial Circuit.

Tennis earned a B.A. from the University of Florida in 1989. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1992.

After graduating from law school, Tennis began her legal career as an assistant public defender in the Office of the Public Defender for the 9th Judicial Circuit in Orlando. She served in that capacity until 1994, at which time she entered into private practice as a sole practitioner.

Her memberships have included the Orange County Bar Association, the Osceola County Bar Association, the Central Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Central Florida Family Law Inn of Court, the Hispanic Bar Association, and the Paul Perkins Bar Association.
