Tentative Rulings
As to Plaintiff’s Requests for Judicial Notice: Plaintiff requests the Court take Judicial Notice of
various items of Legislative History relating to the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA).
Specifically, (A) the Legislative Counsel Digest re SB 796; (B) the Legislative Counsel Digest re SB
1809; and (C) a letter from Senator Dunn published in the Senate Daily Journal, dated July 29,
2004. These Requests are unopposed, and the Court GRANTS them.
As to the Motion for Approval: The Court’s tentative is to GRANT.
Standards
Settlements under PAGA at Labor Code sections 2698, et seq., do not require preliminary
approval.
