The Court denies the motion to set aside and vacate default judgment. The Court grants the request for judicial notice to Exs. A, B, G, I and J, but otherwise denies. FACTUAL / PROCEDURAL CONTEXT Plaintiff filed the complaint (the “Complaint”) in this action on November 19, 2018, against defendants Gary Joe Thompson (“Thompson”) and Cedric R. Stewart (“Stewart”). Plaintiff alleges that she was severely injured when Thompson negligently drove his vehicle causing it to collide with Plaintiff, who was a pedestrian. (Complaint, ¶¶ 8-10.) On July 24, 2018, Thompson executed a sworn statement in which he denied owning any real property, and his insurance carrier tendered the policy limits of $20,000 to Plaintiff. (Id., ¶¶ 12-13, Exhibit C.) Plaintiff subsequently discovered that Thompson concealed his ownership of real property in Riverside (the “Property”), rescinded the settlement and filed a personal injury action (RIC 1820919) against Thompson.
