Defendants The Regents of the University of California and Scott Katzman, DVM’s motion for
summary judgment/summary adjudication is CONTINUED on the Court’s own motion to be
heard on August 9, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. in Department 12.

Plaintiff Janet Labarre alleges multiple acts of veterinary malpractice, that defendants failed to
seek informed consent and recommended surgery without determining an actual diagnosis
requiring surgery, recommended a surgery inappropriate for the conditions found, and not taking
appropriate remedial steps when it was apparent that the initial surgery failed. (Third Amended
