Petitioner Saunders, acting pro per, commenced this proceeding on May 22, 2015. The operative pleading is the First Amended Petition (“FAP”) filed March 12, 2019. The FAP alleges in pertinent part as follows.
On June 9, 2017, Saunders’ employment ended with Real Party Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (“School District”) when the traditional school year ended. School was in recess from July 16, 2017, to August 22, 2017. During the summer session, students still attend school.
