On July 6, 2018 defendants Logix Federal Credit Union and Dovenmuehle Mortgage Inc. (collectively, “Moving Defendants”) filed a motion to transfer this case from the Central District to the North Central District (Burbank Courthouse). At its scheduled August 22, 2018 hearing in the case’s assigned courtroom, Judge Michael L. Stern denied the motion without prejudice, noting that a Notice of Related Case had been filed and the matter must be determined instead by the department in which the earlier-filed case is assigned. Moving Defendants then reserved a September 27, 2018 hearing date for the motion in this courtroom, and on August 31, 2018 Judge Michelle W. Court, temporarily assigned to this courtroom, granted Moving Defendants’ ex parte application to advance the hearing to this hearing date.

In the notice of motion, Moving Defendants assert that the Central District is an improper venue for the case pursuant to CCP §
