Background

Plaintiff filed a negligence lawsuit against Defendant on March 13, 2017. The complaint alleges that one of Defendant’s drivers negligently accelerated a bus before Plaintiff had a chance to sit down, causing her to fall and sustain injuries.

Plaintiff filed a first amended complaint on June 6, 2017. The first amended complaint removed a number of causes of action.

Legal Standard

The court has discretion to allow an attorney to withdraw, and such a motion should be granted provided that there is no prejudice to the client and it does not disrupt the orderly process of justice. See Ramirez v. Sturdevant (1994) 21 Cal. App. 4th 904, 915.
