Plaintiff Seven Summits Pictures sues defendant Zooey Deschanel for breach of the parties’ 1999 Written Management Agreement. According to the allegations, Seven Summits managed defendant’s career from 1996 to 2013. Compl. ¶ 1. In 1999, the parties entered into a written agreement in which defendant agreed to pay plaintiff “a ten percent (10%) commission on all monies or other consideration received by [plaintiff] or [plaintiff’s] company for all entertainment activities or deals initiated during the term of [the] agreement.” Compl. ¶ 1. Defendant ceased making payments in 2015. Compl. ¶ 18. Plaintiff specifically seeks commission on three projects: Hello Giggles (plaintiff’s website), New Girl (plaintiff’s television show), and a Tommy Hilfiger advertising campaign.
