Plaintiff Annette Shaw sues defendant County of Los Angeles for failing to provide a reasonable accommodation for her disability and related claims.

Plaintiff alleges that in 2007, she started working as an emergency room nurse for defendant at its Olive View facility. In October 2011, she was brutally physically assaulted by a coworker, resulting in physical injuries. Her physicians placed her off work for several months. In February 2012, plaintiff encountered her assailant on several occasions, causing panic attacks and an eventual post-traumatic stress disorder diagnosis. Plaintiff’s physicians placed her off work until November 2013. On November 1, 2013, plaintiff returned to work with limitations including not working in the emergency room and having no contact with her assailant.
