This is a dispute between the owner of a property and a general contractor who allegedly failed to pay various subcontractors related to a construction project. The property in question is The Grand Madison and is located at 725 Grand Avenue, Carlsbad, California, 92008. It is a four-story building with eleven residential condominium units, but is ultimately a "mixed-use" property that also has retail outlets on-site. The owner of the Grand Madison is, obviously enough, plaintiff Grand Madison, LLC (Plaintiff or Owner). The general contractor for the construction of the project was defendant Viking Commercial Construction, Inc. (Viking or General Contractor).
