1. Overview and Procedural Posture.

This is wrongful death case arising from the passing of Kenani Kaimuloa, who became ill at an "electronic dance music" festival held in June of 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her surviving family members allege the promoters of the festival failed "to provide care due to a lack of qualified medical attendees, medical equipment, and medicine necessary to diagnose and treat decedent." ROA 1, paragraph 22. The case was filed here in San Diego on June 22, 2018, and summons was promptly issued. ROA 1-6.
