1. Overview and Procedural Posture.

This dispute arises out of an alleged stabbing incident in a mobilehome park in El Cajon in February 2018. The complaint for battery, assault, IIED and other torts was filed in April of 2018. ROA 1. Defendants answered in May, and filed a cross-complaint. ROA 9-10. Plaintiff demurred to two counts of the cross-complaint, and sought an order striking certain allegations therefrom. ROA 25-30. On September 14, 2018, the court made its rulings, and at the continued CMC set the case for trial in April of 2019. ROA 73-77. The second amended cross-complaint was thereafter filed (twice). ROA 80, 86. A motion to strike was filed attacking it (ROA 87-90), and calendared for February 1, 2019. The third amended cross-complaint was thereafter filed. ROA 93.
