Preliminarily, the Court notes that the case before it involves the tragic and unfortunate murder of Amanda Lee Jensen at the hands of former Los Alamitos Police Captain Rick Moore. Plaintiffs Terri B. Coats, Administrator of the Estate of Amanda Lee Jensen (“Jenson”), Deceased, wrongful death decedent; Dylan Tyler Coats; Terri B. Coats, individually and as Guardian ad Litem for Minors E.F.J., and H.G.J.; and William Coats (collectively “plaintiffs”) filed a First Amended Complaint alleging causes of action for wrongful death pursuant to Code Civ. Proc. §377.60 et seq.
