Background
On May 26, 2020, Plaintiff Jeffrey Rubin filed the instant action against Defendants City of Calabasas (the “City”); Gary Lysik, individually and as City Manager of City of Calabasas; David Shapiro, individually and as a member of the Calabasas City Council; and Does 1 through 25. On August 21, 2020, Plaintiff filed the First Amended Complaint (“FAC”). The FAC asserts causes of action for:
Whistleblower Retaliation;
Violation of Cal. Gov. Code § 815.6;
Relief under Cal. Civ. Code § 52.1;
Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress;
Breach of Fiduciary Duty;
Violation of Cal. Gov. Code § 1090;
Fraudulent Concealment; and
Unfair Competition.
On September 25, 2020, Defendant Shapiro filed an Anti-SLAPP motion currently set for hearing on February 1, 2021.
Plaintiff now moves for an order lifting the discovery imposed by the filing of
