petition for approval for transfer of structured settlement payment rights
BACKGROUND
On February 7, 2020, Petitioner J.G. Wentworth Originations of California, LLC (“Petitioner”) filed the Petition for Approval for Transfer of Structured Settlement Payment Rights by and between Taneah Moton (“Transferor”) and Petitioner, pursuant to Insurance Code, §10134 et seq. Transferor entered into an agreement for the settlement of a personal injury claim on June 7, 2016. (Pet., ¶1.)
The settlement agreed to by Transferor provides for certain lump sum and/or periodic structured payments, including but not limited to: 1 payment of $15,000 on 1/9/25. (Pet. at p.2, ¶2.) Transferor has agreed to sell to Petitioner the right to receive these payments for $5,000.17. (Pet., Ex. B.)
