Tentative Decision on Petition for Writ of Mandate
Petitioner Catherine Bruni (“Petitioner”) petitions for a writ of administrative mandate directing Respondent City of Alhambra (“Respondent” or “City”) to set aside the decision of its Civil Service Commission (“Commission”) to terminate Petitioner from her position as corporal with the Alhambra Police Department (“Department” or “APD”).
Procedural History
On January 15, 2019, Petitioner filed her petition for writ of administrative mandate. On August 16, 2019, Respondents City of Alhambra, City of Alhambra Police Department, and City of Alhambra Civil Service Commission filed an answer.
On July 29, 2020, Petitioner filed her opening brief in support of the petition. On July 31, 2020, Petitioner filed and served an “amended” opening brief.[1] The court has received Respondent’s opposition and Petitioner’s reply.
