TENTATIVE RULING: The Motion is GRANTED IN PART AND DENIED IN
PART. The Motion is GRANTED as to the request to bifurcate the issue of the statute of limitations to be tried first before the remaining issues are tried. Pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure section 598, the Court finds the economy and efficiency of handling the litigation would be promoted by determining the statute of limitations issue first. However, the Motion is DENIED as to the request to stay financial discovery. The financial information sought could reveal transactions relevant to when loans or purchases on the AMEX card were made and/or repaid. Discovery requests relevant to the statute of limitations issue should not be stayed.
