Ruling:
The motion of defendant Volkswagon Group of America for summary adjudication is denied as to each requested summary adjudication on the grounds that this defendant has not carried its initial burden of showing that the respective causes of action is without merit and that triable issues of fact exist as set forth below.

Background:

Plaintiff Richard Steiner (“Steiner”) filed this action, with his wife Christie Steiner as co-
plaintiff, based upon his occupational exposure to asbestos products and his lung cancer alleged to have resulted from that exposure. During the mid 1970s through approximately 1990, Steiner worked on, and worked near others working on, various Volkswagon vehicles. (Steiner’s Response to Special Interrogatories, set one, interrogatory 8 [Flynn decl., exhibit D].) Steiner performed automotive rep
