Background
Plaintiff Carlos Cifuentes sued his former employer, Costco Wholesale Corporation, and individual managers employed by Costco – Tom Current, Jim Blount and Ronald DeBrum. The court granted defendants’ motion for summary adjudication of all claims against the managers and all but the breach of contract claims against Costco.
After trial, the jury found for plaintiff on the breach of contract claim, finding three separate breaches of contract: by a vote of 9-3, that Costco terminated plaintiff for a report regarding two other employees; by
