Biography

The Hon. Walter P. Schwarm is a judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on July 16, 2009, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William Evans.

Schwarm received a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Irvine in 1986. He then earned a J.D. from California Western School of Law in 1989.

Schwarm began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Orange County in 1989. He was then promoted to Senior Deputy District Attorney, eventually becoming an Assistant District Attorney.

He was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1964. At the time of his appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County, he was a resident of Laguna Niguel, California.

Schwarm is registered to vote as a Republican.
