Biography

The Hon. Vincent J. Chiarello is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Gray Davis on October 9, 2003, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Marliese Kim.

Chiarello earned a B.S. in business administration from the City University of New York. He then received a J.D. from Yale Law School in 1981.

Chiarello began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. Anthony N. Kennedy of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 1981. The following year, he joined Morrison & Foerster as an associate, eventually rising to partner. During his tenure there, he specialized in complex civil litigation, handling intellectual property cases in front of the International Trade Commission.
