Biography

The Hon. Timothy B. Taylor is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on January 24, 2005, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Eugene M. Amos.

Taylor earned a B.A. from the University of Southern California in 1981. He then received a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Taylor worked as an associate at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. During his twenty-year tenure there, he represented large companies, handling environmental, unfair competition, and trade regulation cases.
He has served on the Board of Governors of the San Diego Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He has also been a Senior Master of the Welsh Inn of Court.

Taylor was raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. His wife, the Hon. Laura Stuart Taylor, has served as a United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of California since 2008.

He enjoys fly fishing, playing guitar, and reading.
