The Hon. Thomas A. Delaney is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by former governor Jerry Brown on July 16, 2014, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge B. Tam Nomoto Schumann.
Delaney earned a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University. He then received a J.D. from Loyola Law School.
Delaney began his legal career as an associate with Bodkin, McCarthy, Sargent, and Smith in 1992. Three years later he started work as an associate at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran and Arnold, a position he held until 2001. Then, in 2002, he became a partner at Sedgwick.
Delaney was the founder and chair of the Sedgwick Hispanic Lawyers Forum.
Delaney, a resident of Santa Ana, is registered as a Democrat.
