Biography

The Hon. Teresa S. Bennett is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006.

Bennett earned a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego in 1975. She then completed a J.D. from the University of La Verne College of Law in 1988.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Bennett served in the Office of the Public Defender of San Bernardino County from 1989 to 2006.

She has been a participant of the Association of Defense Counsel at The Hague in the Netherlands, where she was qualified to represent individuals accused of war crimes in the former Yugoslavia.

She has been a member of the Assistance League, and she has co-chaired the Missions and Services Commission Church of the Brethren.

Bennett speaks French fluently.
