The Hon. Stephanie M. Bowick is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009. She filled the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Joe W. Hilberman (Ret.).

Judge Bowick graduated with her B.A. in English from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1984. She went on to earn her J.D. from Howard University School of Law, Washington, D.C. in 1988. While in law school, Bowick served an internship for Clairol in their legal department.
After graduating from law school, Bowick became a deputy city attorney for the San Diego City Attorney's Office from 1990 to 1993. She left the City Attorney's Office to practice as an associate for the law firms of Mills and Schroeder, Berman and Clark, and Barrack, Rodos, and Bacine. Then in 1998 Bowick joined the San Francisco City Attorney's Office as a deputy. In 2001 she served a brief stint as a deputy for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. Bowick, whose parents were both teachers, then became the assistant general counsel for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) in 2001. During her time at LAUSD, she served as counsel for the district's inspector general, as well as served as counsel for the districts special-education hearings and appeals. She remained at LAUSD until her appointment to the Superior Court in 2009.
