The Hon. Stephanie George is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. She was appointed by former governor Gray Davis, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Gary Ryan on October 6, 2000.
George received a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts in 1980. She then earned a J.D. from Whittier College School of Law in 1985.
George began her legal career in 1985. She served as a judge advocate in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the United States Navy until 1989. She then served as a deputy district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Orange County, a position she held until her appointment to the Superior Court of Orange County.
George has also served as a commander of the Ready Reserve Unit of the United States Navy from 1989 to 2005.
George attended Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is married with three children.
