The Hon. Stanford E. Reichert is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Rufus Yent.
Reichert earned a B.A. from the University of Utah in 1974. He then completed a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1977.
He began his legal career in 1978. He first worked as an associate at Hartman, Hosp, Richard & Schlegel. He practiced there for six years, eventually accepting a position as partner at Harman, Morton & Schlegel. Then, in 1988, he left the firm and started his own private practice. Over the course of his legal career, he specialized in insurance defense law and civil litigation.
Reichert moved to the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in 2000, where he served as judicial staff counsel for two years. He then briefly served as a judge for the State Bar Court, leaving his post to accept a position as a court commissioner for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County.
Reichert is registered as a Republican.
