The Hon. Rudolph A. Diaz is a judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court in California. Prior to becoming a Superior Court judge, Diaz presided on the Rio Hondo Municipal Court.
Judge Diaz received his B.S. from the University of California at Long Beach. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.
During his time on the bench, Judge Diaz is credited for implementing the ground-breaking Drug Court program, which sought to address prison overcrowding due to rampant drug offenses. The Drug Court's year-long program attempted to cut down on recidivism and would also expunge charges from the offenders' record if they were able to stay clean and out of trouble.
In 2009, Judge Diaz was recognized as the Union Bank's Local Hero during Hispanic Heritage Month for his work with the Drug Court program.
He has also served as the past-president of the California Judges Association.
